Sonic smiley tot. On an order menu at a Sonic in McMinnville, OR. March 2012.

I love this happy little tot. At least, I assume it’s a tot. It looks a bit like a marshmallow. A golden, red-footed marshmallow.

But whatever. He’s happy, and I’m guessing he’s on the menu to make kids smile, because he’s in the kids meal section of the menu. So whether he’s a marshmallow or a tot, I love him — he makes me smile too! 🙂

Just found this today! I saw a photo of a woman with this guy (a costumed mascot) and took a while to figure out just what he was! A tot. I guess so, but he is rather smooth and rounded for a tot. The mascot has arms.
My teenager just found him! Read all about him on

His name is Tot!

Fantastic! I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one to have that reaction — and a guy in a costume!? That’s wild!

And thanks for commenting! I had put this whole blog on hiatus while I’ve been busy with, well, everything, but I’m going to try to start posting again soon. I certainly have a backlog of smileys!
